WEEKLY UP DATE <br />a traro. • , wpo.r <br />Tuesday, April 16, 2013 <br />5:00 p.m. — Public Work Committee — Lake Itasca Room <br />5:45 p.m. City Council Work Session/Strategic Planning — Lake Itasca Room <br />Preview of Next Week <br />April 11, 2013 <br />Public Works Committee (5:00 p.m. — LIR) <br />The agenda for Public Works consists of one case - Cost Estimate for Pedestrian Crosswalk at <br />Alpine Drive and Zirconium Street. There will be a review of the 2012 -2013 winter maintenance <br />activities under the Committee /Staff Input portion of the agenda. <br />City Council Work Session /Strategic Planning 5:45 p.m. - LIR) <br />Council and staff will meet in work session format to continue with Strategic Planning. The <br />agenda includes review and discussion of the following three scenarios: A New Day; Moving <br />Forward; and 2013 Budget Status Quo. Council and staff will discuss which direction to move <br />toward, discuss a balanced scorecard and the next steps. Pizza will be available for dinner. <br />Council Update <br />Changes to our Team. It is official, after 23 years of service with Ramsey, Captain Tim Dwyer <br />has accepted the Chief of Police position with the City of Cambridge. Tim's last day in the <br />office will be Friday, April 26 We wish him well! <br />Please welcome Bruce Westby, our new City Engineer. Bruce comes to us from the City of <br />Monticello where he worked as the City Engineer for 7 years. Hakanson Anderson will be with <br />us for up to 1 -month during the transition period. Also, a huge Thank You to Shane and Ron for <br />serving as Ramsey's Interim City Engineers since last summer. <br />Staff selected a finalist for the Economic Development Manager position and will be bringing a <br />case forward later this month for consideration. <br />• The Community Development Department is providing an update to current development <br />projects and draft policies as part of the attached Development Update. Attached to the <br />Weekly Update is the Development Update. <br />• Finance was busy with the auditors this week as well as running budget numbers for the <br />Strategic Planning session. <br />
