ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY TASK FORCE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA On Monday, November 17, 2003, the Environmental Policy Task Force (EPTF) met in the conference room at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, MN. Members Present: Chairperson Joe McDilda Committee Member Michael Max Committee Member Erika Sitz Committee Member Margaret Connolly Members Absent: Park Commission Liaison Jon Olds Also Present: Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik Environmental Specialist Bruce Bacon CALL TO ORDER Chairperson McDilda called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Committee Member Max and seconded by Committee Member Sitz to approve the agenda as submitted. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Committee Members Connolly, Max and Sitz. Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Member Olds. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Committee Member Connolly and seconded by Committee Member Max to approve the following EPTF minutes: a) October 20, 2003 Motion carried: Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Committee Members Connolly, Max, Sitz and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Member Olds. TASK FORCE BUSINESS Case #1: Drafting A Wetland Buffer Ordinance Mr. McDilda presented copies of sample wetland buffer ordinances from the communities of Woodbury, Stillwater and Savage. He also provided the Task Force with a copy of the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act and an informative article dated April 4, 2003, prepared by the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy entitled "Legislation Threatens Proud History of Wetlands Protection". Ms. Frolik was instructed to create a binder of resource materials for the EPTF regarding wetland buffers.
