PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

A special meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on Thursday,
June 21, 1984 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd.
N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Councilmember Gary Reimann
Councilmember Jean Schlueter
Councilmember A1 Sorteberg
Councilmember Gary Reimann

Also Present:

City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle
City Accountant Jeanne Moen

Members Absent: Mayor Thomas Gamec

CALL TO ORDER

Acting Mayor Reimann called the special meeting to order at
7:04 p.m. and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

COUNCIL BUSINESS

Case #1: Budget Amendments:

Mr. Schnelle stated that budget amendments are normally addressed
at Council's second regular meeting in July but in order to meet
Charter requirements, they must be done by a special Council
meeting at this time.

City Accountant Moen reviewed the budget amendments with Council.

Councilmember Reimann stated that he attended a Cable T.V. Board
Meeting earlier this evening and it was noted that financially
they are having trouble making ends meet. A suggested plan was
to bill each city $10,000 until money starts coming in and there
would be a 3-4 week lag time before city's would be reimbursed;
it amounts to a temporary loan. Councilmember Reimann suggested
that Council budget this amount just in case the Cable Board
approaches Ramsey for a temporary loan.

Mr. Schnelle stated that Council can make a motion to do so at
this time and it in no way obligates the City; the Cable Board
would have to approach Council with a formal request and Council
would have to approve that request. If Council budgets $10,000
for Cable, it will be taken from 'Fund Balance'

Sp C/June 21, 1984
