HNANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday April 9, 2002, at the <br />Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Hendriksen called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:43 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Consider Authorization for Transportation Consultant, Leonard W. Levine <br />& Associates, Inc. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the City entered into a contractual agreement with Len <br />Levine of Leonard W. Levine & Associates, Inc., beginning March 1, 2001, extending through <br />January 31, 2002, for consulting services. During a recent work session, the City Council <br />decided not to extend the contract of Levine, however, directed staff to discuss a retainer <br />arrangement with Mr. Levine. Mr. Levine was agreeable to entering into a retainer arrangement <br />where the City would pay a lump sum in advance and Mr. Levine would charge an hourly rate, <br />which would be billed against the retainer. Mr. Levine has sent a letter, dated March 15, 2002, <br />that spells out the terms of the retainer agreement, whereby Mr. Levine would charge an hourly <br />rate of $225 per hour and would charge it against his retainer.
