Jim and his crew would
like to add some landscape amenities to the site.

Chairperson McDilda arrived.

Marilyn Anderson - Anoka County Genealogical Society - Ms. Anderson noted that the Foster
Cemetery was deeded to the City in 1865. She proceeded to explain how the Genealogical
Society got involved in restoring the cemetery. A 3 year plan for the restoration has been
formulated. The City Public Works Department provided an access road to the site; Jim Tully
organized a crew to clean up the site; BrUce Bacon has identified dead trees and trees
recommended for prUning. This winter donations will be solicited for funds and materials to use
in the restoration efforts.

Mr. Bacon noted that basically the trees are in good shape and include Oak, Hackberry, Box
Eider, Mulberry (20-1/2 inches in diameter). Mulberry is not native to the area so someone must
have planted it there. There is an Oak that is damaged and should be removed. The City is also
creating a tree map of the site that identifies number, size, and condition of trees.

It was suggested that the restoration of Foster Cemetery and Trott Brook Cemetery be
highlighted in a future issue of the Ramsey Resident.
