ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMPANY <br />HIG~AY 10 STUDY COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Highway 10 Study Committee of the Ramsey Economic Development Company <br />m~t on March 16, 1987 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Ramsey Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Glen Hardin, President <br />Mr. Don Greenberg <br />Mr. Terry Miller <br />Mr. Darryl Fults <br />Mr. Steve DeLuca <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Anne Norris <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin called the special meeting to order at4:33 p.m. and stated that <br />the purpose of the meeting is to interview the four consultants that <br />submitted proposals for the Highway 10 Corridor Study. <br /> <br />1. Barton-AschmanAssociates. Inc. <br /> <br />Barry Warner, Donn Wiski and Ron Jackson of Barton-Aschmanwere present. <br /> <br />Barry Warner - Principal Associate - Barton Aschman Associates - Stated <br />that he heads up the land use planning and landscape architecture divisions <br />at Barton Aschman. Barton Aschman is a nationally recognized firm geared <br />to issues of land planning, traffic engineering, urban design, marketing <br />and community planning. The other member of the team is Resolution, Inc. <br />with expertise in areas of public-private development, economic development <br />and marketing strategy implementation. The skills of the two teams will be <br />available on an as-needed basis because often times many issues come about <br />during the course of the study that are not readily recognized at the onset <br />of the study. <br /> <br />The Barton-Aschman approach to the study would be: 1) establish a <br />strategy updgrading Hwy. #10 land use; 2) Identify business and industry <br />attracted to the area; 3) Prepare a series of development plans; 4) <br />prepare marketing strategy target to future business; 5) develop <br />implementation strategy, establish financial foundation and assign <br />responsibilities. <br /> <br />Don Wiski - Resolution, Inc. - Stated that so much emphasis is being placed <br />on making the public and private sector work together to achieve the kind <br />of community that is desired; Resolution, Inc. assists those two forces in <br />that effort.
