FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 24, 2004, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Elvig <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James Norman <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Ralph McGinley, Senior Vice President of Fixed Income Originations of <br />Oppenheimer & Company, Inc. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 5:37 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to approve the <br />agenda as presented. <br /> <br />Motion can'ied. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, Councilmembers Zimmerman and Strommen. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case/ti: Consider Change in Local and Long Distance Phone Service for City of <br /> Ramsey Facilities <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained the City of Ramsey has local and long distance <br />phone service through a number of providers, including Quest, McLoed, and AT & T. The City <br />has experienced service problems with Qwest and McLoed as well as a lack of customer se~wice <br />from both companies. Staff solicited a proposal from US Link to provide local and long distance <br />service to the City of Ramsey facilities.
