NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Negotiating Committee conducted a closed meeting on Wednesday,
November 3, 1993, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W.,
Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Councilmember Sheila Beyer
Councilmember Glen Hardin
Councilmember Kenneth Peterson

Also Present:

City Administrator Ryan Schroeder
Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney

CALL TO ORDER

Councilmember Peterson called the closed meeting of the Negotiating Committee to order at
4:50 p.m.

CITIZEN INPUT

None

APPROVE AGENDA

Consensus of the Committee was to approve the agenda as presented.

COMMITTEE BUSINESS

Case #1: 1994 Wages and Benefits (Closed)

Councilmember Peterson inquired if anyone on the Committee felt that the Negotiating
Committee should consist of the entire Council.

Councilmember Beyer stated she is okay with the way it is.

Councilmember Peterson stated that it is very important that the Committee "keep all issues
in this room and keep the process honest".

Councilmember Hardin stated there have been some conversations between
Councilmember Beyer and the AFSCME Business Agent. He felt the Committee should
know what the jest of those conversations have been and how it will affect what this
Committee is doing.

Councilmember Beyer stated they discussed salaries and how she wants wages for the
employees that are fair and equitable. She stated they did not get into any specifics.

Councilmember Hardin felt that Councilmember Beyer stating to the AFSCME Business
Agent that she did not feel the salaries were fair and equitable taints this Committee's
process. He felt that is was not proper for a member of the Negotiating Committee to meet
with the AFSCME Business Agent to discuss salaries, etc. Councilmember Hardin

Negotiating Committee/November 3, 1993
