PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was held on <br />Thursday, June 12, 1986 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen <br />Blvd., NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Ron Hetland <br />John Lichter <br />Marleen Looyen' <br />Bill Rustad <br /> <br />FfEMBERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />Dennis Donovan, Chairman <br />Janice Johnson <br />Don Lokker <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br /> <br />Claudia Dodge, Ramsey Community School <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m. by Commissioner Lichter. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hetland moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Commissioner <br />Rustad. Motion passed. <br /> <br />The minutes were read and Commissioner Hetland noted a correction on page 2, ~%q <br />changing Central Park to Rivers Bend Park. Motion by Commissioner Looyen, x~ <br />seconded by Commissioner Rustad to approve minutes as corrected - motion ,o~_~r <br />passed. <br /> <br />City Council minutes were noted. <br /> <br />B=ad Dahl, Lions Club, was present and indicated the Lions Club wants to <br />do something to satisfy a need in the city and is looking for ideas. <br /> <br />Claudia Dodge mentioned that Ramsey School raised almost $7,000.00 in a <br />Walk-a-Thon and is looking for matching funds for playground equipment. A <br />committee will be formed in the fall to determine the playground equipment <br />needs. <br /> <br />Merle Mevissen, Public Works Supervisor, said there is a need for a set of <br />soccer goals, approximately $1500 with the nets, at Central Park. <br />Commissioner Lichter said the warming house at the hockey rink is too small, <br />Merle Mevissen said there are a lot of complaints. <br /> <br /> <br />
