PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was held on Thursday <br />March 20, 1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd., N.W. <br />Ramsey, Minnesota <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Donovan, Chairman <br />Mr. John Lichter <br />Ms. Marleen Looven <br />Mr. Ron Hetland <br />Mr. Bill Rustad <br />Ms. Janice Johnson <br /> <br />.Mr~---Don -Lokke¥ "~-'- ~-~ <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Ms. Claudia Dodge - Ramsey Community School Coordinator, <br />Mr. Merle Mevissen, Street Superintendent. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Donovan called the regular meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Dale McCusik came before the commission to request permission to hold a <br />softball tournament sometime in late spring. There would be 18-24 teams <br />invited. 3.2 beer would be served. They would expect to have revenue of <br />$5-6,000 that would be donated to Riverbend Park. The tournament would be <br />held at Riverbend fields but if the fields are not done the tournament <br />would be moved to Central Park. The commission had no objections to the <br />proposal <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Commission consensus was to approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hetland, seconded by Commissioner Looven to approve <br />both sets of minutes dated January 17, 1985. <br /> <br />PARK BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Request for ideas on work to be done in Central Park for <br /> <br />Fraternal Park Day. <br /> <br />Mr. A1 Steinbrecher has indicated that Lutheran Brotherhood will donate up <br />to $400 for materials, etc. for Central Park for Fraternal Park Day, June <br />15, 1985. There will be ten people from Lutheran Brotherhood available <br />to do the work. <br /> <br />It was decided that Lutheran Brotherhood would be asked to do the cleaning <br />under and trimming trees and that the commissioners would come to the next <br />meeting with additional ideas. <br /> <br /> <br />
