CITY OF RAMSEY Parks and Recreation Commission April 24, 1978 A special meeting of the Ramsey Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order at 6 P.M. Monday April 24, 1978 to finalize a recommend- ation for the ball field complex at the Elementary school property. In attendance: Darrell Jensen Doris Irvine John Zobava John Lichter Kevin Walter Bob Walz ClaYton Berg Reference Clayton Berg memo of March 24, 1978 - Alternate #1 1) Initial grading 2) 2,000 cu. yards clay plus placement 4" 3) 1,000 cu. yards black dirt plus placement 2" 4) 270 tons ag. lime plus placement 5) 6 portable bleachers $680 each 6) 2 bike racks $153 each 7) 6 players benches $63 each 8) 3 back stops $1,099 each 9) Fencing 4' high - 3 ball fields $2,224 each $ 500.00 7,000.00 4,500.00 1,890,00 4,080.00 306.00 378.00 3,297.00 6,672.00 Total $28,623.00 (Items 5 through 9 delivered only - installation extra) General opinion of the commission is that we approach this improvement with the attitude of a fully complete, well done project. The recommend- ation is in two stages - an immediate and fall so field can be used this summer and should be complete by next fall. The recommendation is as follows: 1) Renegotiate the lease with the school district for a 25 year period. 2) Obtain necessary engineering preparatory to survey and staking - cost unknown 3) Do the initial grading of site as soon as possible - $500 4) Obtain and install the agra lime for infields as soon as possible - $1,890. 5) Obtain and install modified fencing about 540' as soon as possible - $1,350.
