CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> March 16, 1978 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Darrell Jensen <br />Dennis Donovan <br />John Lichter <br /> <br />Minutes of the February 23 special meeting were reviewed. The date on <br />those minutes read 2-16-78 and it was noted that the date should read <br />2-23-78. <br /> <br />The minutes were approved as corrected above. Dennis Donovan made the <br />motion to approve the minutes. John Lichter seconded. <br /> <br />Old Business <br /> <br />Cost estimates on the Ramsey Elementary School Ball Fields are to be <br />ready by February 23.. Discussion was held.regarding the inclusion of a <br />metal storage shed to keep bases, rakes and other equipment in at the <br />site. A special meeting was scheduled by Chairman Jensen for February 23 <br />at 7:00 to consider the cost estimate and further action. <br /> <br />Jim Gallager, President of the Ramsey Rangers Saddle Club,'appeared with <br />three other club members to discuss the use of the recently acquired <br />Titterud property. Mr. Galla§er presented a letter that indicated the <br />dates of horse shows proposed at the area. The dates noted are as <br />follows: <br /> <br />May'7 <br />June 4 <br />July 9 <br />August 6 <br />September 10 <br />October 8 <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br />Mr. Jensen informed club members that there are no stipulations in the <br />deed regarding the use of the property. Club members noted'that 70-100 <br />people usually attend the events. Club members disc and.drag the arena <br />after use. They will under take repairs on the arena structures as soon <br />as possible. A suggestion was made that.the City could provide a security <br />light on the existing pole at the property. <br /> <br />Interviews with applicants for the two Commission .vacancies were conducted. <br />Those applicants interviewed included Ben Deemers, 7320 - 151st Avenue, <br />Joline Lasher, 15451 Nowthen Blvd., Ken Wemple, 14940~Juniper Ridge, <br />Kevin Wolter, 17050 Nowthen Blvd., Bob Walz, 5265 - 177th Avenue and <br />Charles Conklin, 9001 - 178th Avenue.
