PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION May 15, 1980 Members Present: Terry McLean, Dennis Donovan, Jan Johnson, Dick Swanson, Don Locker, Greg Drake Special Guests: Mr. RonAlwin, Consulting Engineers Diversified Lloyd Schnelle~ City Administrator The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. The minutes of th~pril 17, 1980 meeting were mnended to include Jan Johnson in attendance.~ Terry McLean moved to approve and Jan Johnson seconded. Motion carried... Paul Johnson - Trott Brook Estates Motion by Terry McLean and seconded by Greg Drake to accept money in lieu of land for parks for south six lots this addition. Motion carried. Dick Swanson mentioned that if a request were made for equipment, etc. for parks, it should be taken before the City Council for funding. Motion by Dick Swanson and seconded by Terry McLean that the Park and Recreation Commission go before City Council on the next scheduled meet- ing requesting funds for: 4 permanent home plates 4 sets of base bags 2 sets practice bases Backstop for Titterud Park Lime and Lime machine Green paint for park equipment at Peltzer Park Black dirt for Peltzer Park Motion carried. The R.Y.A.A. had been promised an equipment room at City Hall by June 1, 1980 and are inquiring if this room is ready? The Park Commission reviewed the City Code requlations on Parks. 1) Cover sheet from City Administrator - Item 2) Traprock - The Park Commission is unsure what is wanted or requested in a Children Play Area and are wondering if this would conflict with the horse arena. This subject was tabled until exact need of area determined. The Park Co~nission marked up a copy of Ordinance 110.15 and submitted to the City Administrator/Clerk with the following changes: 1) 110.158 Item G added 2) 110.159 Item D - Parts deleted P&R May 15, 1980 Page 1
