Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting May 18, 1978 All members present Chairman Jensen called the meeting to order at 7:15 P.M. in the con- ference room due to the Council Tax Review meeting being held in the main Council room. Minutes of the March 16 meeting were read and approved on a motion by Dennis Donovan and seconded by John Lichter. Minutes of the April 20 meeting were approved as amended on a motion by Bob Walz and second by Dennis Donovan. Amendment of the fourth paragraph. "For identification purposes the park at 157th and Variolite will be referred to as Traprock Park." April 24 minutes were reviewed and amended as follows: Correct the spelling of Kevins' last name to Wolter. Include Dennis Donovan as member present. Motion by John Lichter, second by Dennis Donovan to approve April 24 minutes. Dennis Donovan reported on his discussions with Mark Harris and the DNR regarding Marks' project at their next meeting on May 22 and to further approve expenditure not to exceed $250 for the following equip- ment and materials: 45 feet of snow fence to be used around 9 trees by the parking lot 9 - 6 feet steel fence posts to attach the snow fence around each tree. 2 - fibreglass picnic table seat replacements small amount of gravel to be spread under the swing set and picnic tables 1 - swing seat replacement I - 5 pound box of grass seed for replanting of burned out damaged areas about two quarts of paint if the existing materials are found to be receptive to repainting The Commission would like to commend Mark Harris for his efforts toward this community project. He has shown reason and common sense in his proposals, plans and has expended time to research with DNR and others. Mark is an asset to his community and we wish him success with his Eagle Scout Community Service Project.
