Park and Recreation Commission <br />Regular Meeting May 18, 1978 <br /> <br />All members present <br /> <br />Chairman Jensen called the meeting to order at 7:15 P.M. in the con- <br />ference room due to the Council Tax Review meeting being held in the <br />main Council room. Minutes of the March 16 meeting were read and <br />approved on a motion by Dennis Donovan and seconded by John Lichter. <br /> <br />Minutes of the April 20 meeting were approved as amended on a motion <br />by Bob Walz and second by Dennis Donovan. Amendment of the fourth <br />paragraph. <br /> <br />"For identification purposes the park at 157th and Variolite <br />will be referred to as Traprock Park." <br /> <br />April 24 minutes were reviewed and amended as follows: <br /> <br />Correct the spelling of Kevins' last name to Wolter. <br />Include Dennis Donovan as member present. <br /> <br />Motion by John Lichter, second by Dennis Donovan to approve April 24 <br />minutes. <br /> <br />Dennis Donovan reported on his discussions with Mark Harris and the <br />DNR regarding Marks' project at their next meeting on May 22 and to <br />further approve expenditure not to exceed $250 for the following equip- <br />ment and materials: <br /> <br />45 feet of snow fence to be used around 9 trees by the <br />parking lot <br /> <br />9 - 6 feet steel fence posts to attach the snow fence around <br />each tree. <br /> <br />2 - fibreglass picnic table seat replacements <br /> <br />small amount of gravel to be spread under the swing set and <br />picnic tables <br /> <br />1 - swing seat replacement <br /> <br />I - 5 pound box of grass seed for replanting of burned out <br />damaged areas <br /> <br />about two quarts of paint if the existing materials are found <br />to be receptive to repainting <br /> <br />The Commission would like to commend Mark Harris for his efforts toward <br />this community project. He has shown reason and common sense in his <br />proposals, plans and has expended time to research with DNR and others. <br />Mark is an asset to his community and we wish him success with his Eagle <br />Scout Community Service Project. <br /> <br /> <br />
