REGULAR GOUNCILMEETING OF ~IT¥ OF RAMSE¥ January 20, 1975 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by the Chairman, Mr. Cox. Present were Mr. Gorham, Mr. Reimann, Mr. Mickelson, and Mrs. Oliphant. Mr. Steffens and Mr. Goodrich were also present. This was the period for questions or comments from the audience. There were non The minutes of the December 16th, December 27th and January l~th meetings ~re brought up for acceptance. Mr. Mickelson made a cor~ rection on page 3 of the January l~th first paragraph changing the word "plumbers" to "well drillers." Mr. Mickelson moved we accept the minutes of December 16th, December 27th and January 14th as corrected and the minutes as received in the mail. Seconded by Mr. Reimann. Motion carried unanimously. Treasurer's Report: Mr. Steffens stated that as a city council they can move funds from one fund to another when this seems to be advisable. Miss Vickie Ann Zeigler was introduced as the new reporter from the Union. Mr. Gorham will work with the reporte to give her back- ground information on the city where it is required. Mr. Sorteberg could not be here this evening. The Planning and Zoning minutes had been received in the mail hy the Council Members. Discussion on the request of the Planning and Zoning Commission that public hearings for both plats and rezoning be held by the Planning and Zoning Commission to alleviate confusion in this area. Dis- cussion on grades and levels for the industrial and commercial areas. Park Board Report: This was given by Mr. Reimann as he had attended their last meeting. Mr. Reimann moved we appoint Mr. Kay Nelson to the Park Board to replace Mr. Noriarty who has resigned. Seconded by Mr. Mickelson. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Reimann is looking around for trees that could be made available for the residents of Ramsey on some type of a package deal for this coming spring. Many areas in our city do not have any trees and it would help in many ways to have a good planting of trees this spring, especially in view of the number of trees that have been lost thru oak wilt and Dutch elm disease. Mr. Ed. Lellback was present. He demonstrated the Computer Election Systems Votamatic voting device to the Council and the audience. One machine will handle 125 voters. For regular elections the County would pay for the cards and the computer service. Until February 1st these machines are $230 each. After the 1st they will be $250 each. For the number of registered voters we have we would need about 16 devices and one metal transfer case at $20.00. The total cost be- fore the first would be $3,7&8 and after the 1st $&,068. A question was asked about using our own booths and he said this wo work also.
