PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on April 22, 1980, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center~ 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W.~ Ramsey~ Minnesota <br />55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilman Sorteberg <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Cox <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br />City Attorney Goodrich <br />City Administrator Schnelle <br />Building Official Berg <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. and led in the Pledge <br />of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />FI~ALIZING EDA GRANT REGARDING MUNICIPAL CENTER BUILDING <br /> <br />Mr. Phil Nereson was present and advised that the Council has received <br />back the final audit on the Municipal Center Building regarding the EDA <br />Grant. <br /> <br />Itc referred to a $9,300 item which the EDA has recommended be not paid <br />since it was work done prior to the actual grant and their opinion this <br />is not a proper item to be paid from the grant. <br /> <br />Mr. Neresom said he recalled that at a early meeting with EDA officials <br />and Mr. Dopoleis of the EDA Chicago office a question was asked if this <br />type of transaction was available for payment and the response was yes. <br />Mr. Nereson said the individuals responsible are no longer with EDA. <br />He said the approach to resolution of the matter would be to contact <br />Bernie Stephen for his recollection and to contact other grantees, <br />specifically Spring Lake Park which will then hopefully confirm his <br />recollection, and then a letter to EDA confirming our understanding <br />with a copy to Congressman Oberstar. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he felt this was the right approach. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson said he hoped the problem could be resolved in the next couple <br />of weeks. Mayor Gamec will send a letter asking for an extension of the <br />EDA May 4, 1980 deadline. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson stated we had followed EDA proceedings strictly. <br /> <br />C/April 22, 1980 <br /> Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
