PAGE 1 <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />MAY 29, 1979 <br />STREET IMPROVEMENT <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the'Ramsey City Council held a public <br />hearing at 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W.,.Ramsey, Minnesota 5530~ on May 29, 1979~ <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilman Cox <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Sorteberg <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Administrator LlOyd Schnell~ <br /> <br />Mayor Gamea called the public hearing to order at 7:30 p.m. and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka explained the project and cost estimates with reference to the <br />improvement of Jaspar Street N.W. lying between Ramsey Blvd., and 163rd Avenue <br />N.W., 159th Lane N.W. lying between Jaspar Street N.W. and Ironstone Street <br />N.W., 160th Lane N.W. lying between Jaspar Street N.W. and Ironstone Street N.W., <br />Ironstone Street N.W. lying between 159th Lane N,W. and 160th Lane N.W., 160th <br />Lane N.W. lying in Section 15 Towmship 32 Range 25 west of Jaspar Street4 161st <br />Lane N.W. lying between Jaspar Street N.W. and Kamacite Street N.Wo, 162nd Lane <br />N.W. lying between Ramsey Blvd. N.W. and Jaspar Street by improving street to <br />a five ton rating and bituminous surfacing. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka further stated that the drainage would remain the same; any <br />driveway culverts that are required will be the responsibility of the owner to <br />purchase and install; driveways that are three feet or~cloaer to the roadway <br />will be connected by the project, others would be the'responsibility of the <br />owner to install and pay for. <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Erickson, 161st Lane, asked how far on 161st the road will be installed. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka explained that it would be as far as it is graded now. <br /> <br />Judy Martens, 161st Lane said that his area wasn't included in the petition <br />because she was told that time was limited to getting it submitted and she didn't <br />have time to 'take the petition any further, it was up to the persons in that area <br />to take the petition around if they wanted the improvement. <br /> <br />Mr. Erickson asked what it would take to get his road done then. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox explained that there was a deadline so the project could be included <br />on the assessment role for this year. However~ he would like to see the whole <br />development done if there is some way to arrange it. <br /> <br />Mrs. Bowman said she had talked to some of the people on that street and they <br />didn't want it done. <br /> <br /> <br />
