SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on June 12, 1979, at City Hall, <br />15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Gamec <br /> Councilman Cox <br /> Councilman Mickelson <br /> Councilman Reimann <br /> Councilman Sorteberg <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Admin. Schnelle <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the special meeting to order at 9:14 P.M. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Citizen Input is deleted from the Agenda due to the fact that it was <br />taken up at the Regular Council meeting last night. <br /> <br />Addition of Mr. Sam Walz - Park and Recreation Commission. He was unable <br />to attend the meeting last night because of two other commitments. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson, seconded by Councilman Reimann to approve the <br />Agenda as noted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and <br />Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec brought up the fact that the vote was 23 opposed and 27 in favor, <br /> one letter received against, and a call from Mr. Morrow in favor, input from <br /> three or four property owners in regard to this in favor of the project at the <br /> 5/29/79 public hearing. <br />(Street Improvement - Quartz Street N.W., Olivine Street N.W., Marble Street N.W., <br /> Kamacite Street N.W., Jaspar Street N.W., 161st Lane N.W., 162nd Lane N.W., <br /> 163rd Avenue N.W., 164th Lane N.W. and 166th Avenue N.W.) <br /> <br />Councilman Cox asked that the per lot assessment be explained. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka stated that any buildable 21~ acre lot will be assessed, so if <br />a person has five acres that could be divided into two 2½ acre lots he will <br />be assessed for two. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said the thing to considem~is it appropriate to give benefit to <br />those who have the larger lots. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg stated that if it is a five acre lot that can be Split into <br />two it could be assessed for two.
