SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Council held a <br />special Council meeting on August 21, 1978, at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox called the special Council meeting to order at 8:10 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Cox <br />Councilman Robert Muller <br />Councilman Gary Reimann <br />Councilman Tom Gamec <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Administrator Schnelle <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilman David Mickelson <br />Attorney Goodrich <br /> <br />Mayor Cox led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka gave a report on the bid openings for the street im- <br />provements. There were three bids received: <br /> <br />Hardrives, Inc. $153,089.00 <br />N.D.H. 142,147.00 <br />Northern Asphalt Construction 190,982.52 <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated the lowest bid was about 14% over the estimated <br />bid but they had added restorations to the projects and this was not a true <br />price. He hoped the actual price per homeowner would be lower after the <br />project was complete. <br /> <br />He also stated that a homeowner could maybe get a better price on a driveway <br />with the contractor on connecting his present drive but it would have to be <br />between the homeowner and the contractor. <br /> <br />Bob Ilstrip asked there were only two or three feet, would they connect it <br />up? City Engineer Raatikka replied they would. <br /> <br />August DeReubis asked how many homeowners were involved and if the projects <br />were bid total on one bid or by each area. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka said they were lumped together as one. <br /> <br />Motion by Gary Reimann and seconded by Tom Gamec to adopt resolution #21 <br />and award the bid for street improvements on projects #78-1 Menkveld's <br />Country Park, ~78-2 Greeland Hills Plat #2 and #78-3 Azurite, Zirconium, <br />Yttrium, 162nd Avenue, 164th Lane and 166th Avenue to N.D.H. in the amount <br />of $142,147.00 <br /> <br />4 ayes <br />Motion carried <br /> <br /> <br />
