PLANNING AND ZONING ODMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA ODUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, April 7, 1987 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Gary Ostlund's request for a <br />conditional use permit to operate an electrical contracting business from <br />his home at 14290 Alpaca Street N.W. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Ken Peterson, Chairman <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br />Mr. Ben Deemer <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman <br />Mr. Roy Shumway <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Develounent Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />Members Absent: Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:42 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Ostlund was present and stated that he has 3 employees that park their <br />vehicles at his home all day and take business vehicles from his home to <br />job sites. <br /> <br />Jim Holm - 7854 142nd Avenue 5W - Inquired if written comments submitted <br />regarding Mr. Ostlund's request would be taken into consideration. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson noted that he had received written comments from Mr. and <br />Mrs. Bitner, Mr. and Mrs. Boedigheimer, William Kropski and Mal <br />Weisenburger opposing Mr. Ostlund' s request. <br /> <br />Ed Hansen - 7913 142nd Avenue - Stated that he has not noticed a lot of <br />traffic and heavy equil~nent and he is in favor of Mr. Ostlund's request. <br /> <br />Mr. Ostlund - Stated that he doesn't do any work at the home; his offic~ is <br />in his basement; he stores two trucks on his property; he does store some <br />materials in his garage but usually tries to have it delivered to the job <br />sites. Mr. Ostlund was planning to build a structure on his property to <br />store his business vehicles in. The traffic created is by the 3 employees <br />that arrive at his home at approximately 7:30 a.m. and return at 4:00 to <br />5:00 p.m.; it is a quiet business that does not create constant traffic. <br /> <br />Pat Boedigheimer - 7944 142nd Avenue M~ - Inquired as to what happens when <br /> P&Z Public Hearing/April 7, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
