Regular P & Z <br />6/6/77 <br /> <br /> PLANNING & ZONING <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, RAMSEY, MN. <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission was held on June <br />6, 1977, at 7:30 p.m., at Ramsey Elementary School, 15000 Nowthen Boulevard N.W. <br />Ramsey, MN 55303 <br /> <br />Present: Tom Gamec, Chairman Also Present: Pete Raatikka <br /> A1 Sorteberg <br /> Ron West <br /> Brad Bodle <br /> Ken Peterson <br /> Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Minutes of the last Planning & Zonin~ meeting were not received (May 2) so <br />they were not acted upon. <br /> <br />Robert Rodin <br /> <br />Request variance on Lot 9, Block 1, Reilley Estates on setback requirement. <br /> <br />Applicant would like to reduce the present requirement of 40' front setback to <br />35'so as to save some of the Oak trees along the Rum River. <br /> <br />A1 Sorteberg moved to recommend to the City Council to allow Mr. Rodin a <br />35' front setback instead of 40' Motion seconded by Ken Peterson and carried. <br /> <br />6-0 <br /> <br />Richard Lorentzen, 17725 Bauqh~Street N.W. <br /> <br />Request to subdivide by metes and bounds a tract of land 495 X 880 into two <br />parcels. The frontage is 495 on Baugh Street. He has a house and barn on <br />half of the tract and wants to'build a house on the south half of the tract. <br />There is an existing 50' United Power Association Easement on the south side <br />of this tract. <br /> <br />Ken Peterson moved to recommend to the City Council to allow Mr. Lorentzen <br />to subdivide by metes and bounds this parcel into two five-acre tracts for <br />the purpose of obtaining a building permit. That he use only one driveway, <br />that he dedicate 60' for the existing County Road 83. Also that he donate <br />$100 for park fee. Motion seconded by Ron West and carried. <br /> Peterson, Sorteberg, West, Bodle voted Aye and Zimmerman and Gamec voted Naye. <br /> <br />Thomas L. Dallman, 15230 Hematite Street N.W. <br /> <br />Applicant has a lot in Beaudry Second Addition. He requests a variance on <br />the front setback of his lot from the required 40' to 17'. Mr. Dallman has <br />an existing house on the lot and would like to add on an addition and a garage <br />also. It was the concensus of opinion that some other plan could be worked <br />out, such as a tucked-in garage under the addition. Motion by Ron West to <br />recommend to the City Council to deny Mr. Dallman a variance on the basis <br />that it does not follow the guidelines of a 40' front setback.
