PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on January 19, 1999, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at <br />5:05 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler asked to add Case #5: Update Information on Public Works <br />Activity. <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as amended. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Nolle <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Update on Trunk Highway #47 STP Project (I.P. #98-14) and County Road <br />#116 Project <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski noted that he attached the report from SRF following a meeting held on <br />January 5, 1999, with A1 Pint (MnDOT), Dennis Eyler and Pete Fausch regarding the #47 STP <br />Project and the C.R. #116 Project. The memo contains the enumerated course of action, which <br />was the result of this meeting. MnDOT feels the warrants are not met. They feel there will be <br />complaints about unnecessary stop lights. The meeting ended with a consensus of the course of <br />action as follows: 1) The conduit system for a "future" signal at 142nd Avenue will be designed, <br />bid and constructed with the roadway improvement project. Interconnect cable from CSAH <br />#116 to CSAH #5 will be run through these conduits as well. 2) The remainder of the signal <br />system; poles, wiring, etc. will be designed and included in the plans as a separate pay item with <br />contract stipulations of the possible deletion of that pay item at a later date, however, a bid price <br /> <br />Public Works Committee/January 19, 1999 <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
