CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councihnember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:40 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Northstar Corridor <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman explained the Council's packet includes the feasibility study of a <br />Ramsey station by the Northstar Corridor Development Authority. The study shows the <br />proposed ridership in the Ramsey location as the least amount of projected ridership and staff <br />cannot determine how those numbers were comprised. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamcc explained the representatives of the Northstar Corridor had indicated they could <br />not count on all the development from Town Center taking place before 2005, and their numbers <br />only included a portion of the development. <br /> <br />Councihnember Cook inquired what Ramsey's current population is in comparison to Anoka. <br /> <br />Councihncmbcr Elvig replied the population is equal; however, the courthouse is likely being <br />includcd in the calculations for Anoka. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/June 1, 2004 <br /> Page 1 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
