<br />RAMSEY 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />On Monday, May 8, 2017, the 2040 Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee met at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Present: Tim Gladhill, Community Development Director <br /> Mark Riverblood, Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent <br /> Bruce Westby, City Engineer <br /> Shane Bennett, Committee Chairperson <br /> Randy Bauer <br /> Scott Breuer <br /> Christopher Ouelette <br /> Leslie Roering <br /> Dan Torgerson <br /> Michael Valentine <br /> <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Mr. Gladhill stated the Park and Recreation Commission’s meeting on Thursday, May 11, 2017, <br />will include a review of goals and strategies related to parks planning for the 2040 Comprehensive <br />Plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Riverblood stated the Steering Committee should consider issues for discussion in preparation <br />for the public workshop to be held June 12, 2017, which will focus on economic development and <br />environmental protection. He added City Staff has prepared documents for the Steering <br />Committee’s review, specifically related to these chapters of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Riverblood stated the advisory Environmental Policy Board provides recommendations to the <br />City Council regarding policies, projects related to the natural environment of the City, including <br />issues related to water conservation and specifically the Mississippi River. He added this issue is <br />of importance to residents with riverfront property. He noted a water quality assessment was <br />completed in 2006, and related documents will be available at the June 12 workshop, including <br />studies of wildlife habitat impact, climate change and education, and stormwater management. <br /> <br /> <br />2040 Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee / May 8, 2017 <br />Page 1 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
