CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, March 1, 2001, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator, James E. Norman <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 7:09 p.m. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reviewed the changes that had been made to the Land Use Map at <br />the request of Councilmember Zimmerman and Councilmember Hendriksen. He also presented <br />the Council with suggested density transition language to be included in the Comprehensive <br />Plan. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if the rural preserve had been eliminated. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that Met Council is willing to reduce the rural preserve area <br />in exchange for a future study area. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik explained that currently everything north of Trott <br />Brook is in the rural prese~we area and they are proposing to reduce that significantly. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that residents have expressed concern about what will be developed around <br />the Tom Thumb along Ramsey Boulevard. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen explained that the property was designated light industrial with its <br />anticipated use being something of a business/warehouse, dentist office type structure. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/March 1, 2001 <br /> Page 1 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
