We have worked with BKPV. We looked
at the possibility of an addition to City Hall but that has been put on hold. Recently the City
Council authorized us to enter into a agreement with E & V, project consultants. With the help
of E & V, we hired an architectural firm and David Kroos from that firm is here. The City
Council asked staff to go back and re-examine needs. We asked David to reevaluate where he
left off.

David Kroos stated we are here to review space needs. He is not looking at how the space will
be applied - simply what are the space needs. We had executed a summary report in that old
study. The City Hall building is currently 24 years old, being built in 1977. It housed City
offices, the Council Chambers, the Fire Station and the Police Department. Since then, a few
departments have been moved out. The population of the City has expanded and the service
needs have expanded. Because the size of the City hall has not changed, there is a critical lack of
space. We are trying to think in the long term. He showed how the space is allocated. He
invited Department Heads to look at needs for their personnel, look at workspace, storage space,
etc. Currently the need is a little over 21,000 square feet.
