CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, July 26, 2001, at the Ramsey <br />Fire Station #2, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon <br /> <br />CALLTO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 5:55 p.m. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman presented the Council with three new options for land use, which <br />would increase the industrial property in the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he felt that they were taking a step backward by placing <br />the entire area between Ramsey Boulevard and Armstrong Boulevard as mixed use. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that they were trying to show the Council that there are other <br />areas in the City that could be developed as industrial, that had not previously been considered <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied that those properties mentioned have always been there. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimme~xnan stated that once C.R. #116 is extended west of Armstrong <br />Boulevard the property will not be developed as light industrial because of the value. He felt that <br />it would more likely develop commercial or high density residential. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he did not think that there would be' much land left to <br />develop west of Armstrong Boulevard once the bridge is constructed. <br /> <br />City Council/July 26, 2001 <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
