CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, October 15, <br />Ramsey Fire Station #2, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Facilitator Larry Bakken <br /> <br />2001, ~ the <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 5:56 p.m. <br />WORK SESSION TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Comprehensive Plan Facilitator-Led Discussion <br /> <br />A) Housing Mix in Proposed Town Center <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman presented mixed-use language from the March 2001 draft, which <br />included the following new language under Mixed Use Policy: <br /> <br />All high-density residential developments and uses shall have a commercial/retail <br />component within the mixed-use development. <br />In order to plan for the right mix of uses, no more than 50 percent of land designated <br />or allocated residential should be used for residential purposes until at least 25 percent <br />of the land is used for commercial/retail purposes within the mixed-use development. <br />Additionally, no more than 75 percent of the land designated or allocated residential <br />should be used for residential purposes until at least 50 percent of the land designated <br />or allocated commercial/retail is used for commercial/retail purposes within the <br />inixed-use development. <br /> <br />Counci hnember Hendriksen inquired as to the area of land that would be designated mixed-use, <br />explaining that he has a very different opinion if they are talking about everything between <br />Armstrong Boulevard and Ramsey Boulevard, south of C.R. #116 or 100 acres around the rail <br />station. <br /> <br />City Council/October 15, 2001 <br /> Page 1 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
