CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Tuesday, September 18, 2001, <br />Ramsey Fire Station #2, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator, James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br /> <br />at the <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 6:40 p.m. <br />WORK SESSION TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) City Hall Renovation/Expansion Study <br /> <br />Cheryl Boddinger, E&V Consultants, reviewed the different "band-aid" options for the current <br />City Hall as well as the costs involved in an expansion and renovation to the existing City Hall or <br />the construction of a new City Hall. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that the $7,055,000 is a much higher figure than what they <br />were thinking for renovation and addition to the existing City Hall. <br /> <br />A Representative from BKV Architect, stated that the added square footage was based off the <br />needs assessment study that was recently completed and the cost would include a full renovation <br />of the current building as well as the addition. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired as to why the City would need to purchase additional land for <br />the expansion. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that they would be considering purchasing land to the south <br />for the expansion to improve the visibility of City Hall. <br /> <br />City Council/September 18, 2001 <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
