Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Public Works Director Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Strommen called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 5:28 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There wats none. <br /> <br />APl'ROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to approve the agenda as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Strommen, Councilmembers Elvig and Olson. Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Authorize Contract for Repairs to Fire Station No. 1 <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler reviewed that on February 21, 2005 Fire Station No. 1 sustained <br />dmnage fi'om a Firefighter's personal vehicle while responding to an incident. Repairs were <br />delayed until the regular construction season to avoid cold weather charges. Staff is <br />recommending to enter into a contract with S & P Construction of St. Paul, Inc., who are general <br />contractors. The bidding process produced a base contract cost of $29,758.75. This amount <br />includes repair of all damage, inside and out. Staff is working with the LMCIT to recover the <br />costs of repairs from the Firefighter's auto insurance. He advised staff is also recommending <br />that the main front door be replaced during this process.
