ORDINANCE #21-17 <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26 ARTICLE XIV: <br /> RENTAL RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNITS TO <br /> INCLUDE SHORT TERM RENTALS <br /> SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br /> The City of Ramsey Ordains: This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of <br /> Minnesota Statutes sections 412.191 and 412.221. <br /> SECTION 2. AMENDMENTS <br /> Article XIV. - Rental Residential Dwelling Units is hereby amended as follows, with added <br /> language underlined: <br /> Division 1. —Generally <br /> Section 26-614 - Definitions <br /> The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings <br /> ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: <br /> (a) Short Term Rental-a dwelling unit, as defined in Section 117-1, offered to the public <br /> in exchange for money, goods or services, on a nightly or weekly basis for not <br /> more than 30 consecutive days. <br /> Sec. 26-645. - License required. <br /> (a) No person shall operate a rental dwelling building or unit without first having obtained <br /> a license to do so from the city. <br /> a. A rental license is required for all rentals, including short term rentals (STRs). <br /> b. Tents, campers, trailers, yurts, and similar may not be rented out or used as <br /> residences. Only those places of residence with active Certificates of Occupancy <br /> fCO) for habitation may be rented. <br /> Sect. 26-646.—Application. <br /> (a) Application for an initial or renewal license shall be made by the owner of rental units <br /> or by the owner's legally constituted agent to the city on forms provided by the city. <br /> Applications shall include, at a minimum: <br /> (1) Name, address, telephone number, and date of birth of the dwelling owner, <br /> principal partners if a partnership, or corporate officers if a corporation. <br />
