ORDINANCE #05-16 <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7 OF THE CITY CODE WHICH IS KNOWN AS <br />I,ICENSING AND PERMITS <br /> <br />AN OI/I)INANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.03 OF CHAPTER 7 OF THE CITY CODE <br />ENTITLED CONTRACTORS <br /> <br />Thc City of Ralnsey hereby ordains as follows: <br /> <br />SECTI()N 1. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />qhis ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the Charter of the City of <br />Ramscy. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Section 7.03 "Contractors" is hereby repealed and replaced with the following: <br /> <br />7.03 Contractors <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. Construction. It is deemed in the interest of the public and the <br />residents of' the City that the xvork involved in building alteration and construction and the <br />installation of various appliances and service facilities in and for said buildings be done only by <br />individuals, firms and corporations that have demonstrated or submitted evidence of their <br />competency to perform such work in accordance with the applicable sections of the Code of the <br />City regulating same. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Contractor's Licensed. The permits which the building official is <br />attthorizcd to issue under the Code of the City shall be issued only to individuals, firms, or <br />corporations holding a license by the City for work to be performed under the permit, except as <br />hereinafter noted. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Requirements. Application for license shall be made to the building <br />ol]~cial and such license shall be granted upon proof of the applicant's qualifications therefore, <br />their willingness to comply with the provisions of the code, the filing of certificates evidencing <br />the holding of public liability insurance in the limits of $100,000.00 per person and $300,000.00 <br />per accident for bodily injury and as required by law. Any person aggrieved by the building <br />official's refusal to issue a license may appeal the building official's decision to the Council, <br />which shall then review the building official's decision and either affirm or reverse said decision. <br /> <br /> Subd. 4. Fee. All contractors' licenses shall be obtained from the building official. <br />Applications ibr licenses shall be filed with the building official on the forms furnished by the <br />City. Thc fee for each license shall be as set by Council resolution and shall not be refunded or <br /> <br /> <br />
