FIRE DEPARTMENT
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Fire Department conducted the monthly officers meeting on Tuesday, April 6, 2004
at Ramsey Fire Station # 1, 15050 Armstrong Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota.

OFFICERS PRESENT:

Chief Kapler
Assistant Chief Hoxter
Assistant Chief Lemm
Officer Lecy
Officer Lewandowski
Officer Minear
Officer Nelson
Officer Weiss

CALL TO ORDER

Chief Kapler called the officers meeting of the Ramsey Fire Department to order at 7:00 p.m.

Duty officer for April is Officer Minear and May is Officer Lecy.

The next officers meeting will be Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. June's officers meeting
will be Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 7:00 p.m.

SAFETY CONCERNS

Keep chainsaw safety in mind. Do not run with the chainsaw unless the brake is on and
clean it after each use.

· Currently there are extreme dry conditions.

Wear appropriate gear at grass fires.

The extra SCBA bottles on Engine #1 were 25% full. Officers will check them again to
make sure there is not a leak.

RESCUE #2 REPLACEMENT UPDATE

The committee went back to the drawing board to get bids as a utility truck rather than a
rescue truck. Bids came in considerably lower this way.

The committee will recheck the bids to make sure all items are included. This should be
completed by Wednesday.

The truck will be purchased within a 100 mile radius of the Twin Cities, so it should be salt
resistant.
