FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Department conducted a regular meeting on Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at <br />the Ramscy Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chief Kapler called the regular meeting of the Ramsey Fire Department to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />There were thirteen people in attendance. There were no additions to the agenda. <br /> <br />Chief Kapler introduced and welcomed JoAnn Krejca as the recording secretary. <br /> <br />MONTItLY REPORTS <br /> <br />Chief Kapler reviewed the training dates and courses that were given in February. State <br />schools are still wide open for upcoming courses and fire fighters are reimbursed for <br />expenses. <br /> <br />The major maintenance done on tankers, hose and pump cans was reported.. Also, options <br />for fall maintenance was discussed. <br /> <br />Batteries were installed in the hand held-radios. Stiffneck selects were installed in Engines <br />~1 and #2, there are now two peds in each truck. Pen lights should now be in all medical <br />bags, there are extra if needed. Batteries were replaced in PALS. It was noted that if you <br />take supplies out of service, it should be checked out in the book. <br /> <br />Chief Kapler extended a thank you to all who helped clean the fire bay. <br /> <br />· It was noted that the probation of the two newest fire fighters expires on April 1, 1998. <br /> <br />SAFETY CONCERNS <br /> <br />Following are the concerns expressed: <br /> <br />o Few departments abide by the seat belt law. <br /> <br />· Standing in the truck is unsafe, hooks can get caught on the handles and a catastrophe could <br /> OCC[IF. <br /> <br /> <br />
