The next officers meeting will be Sunday, May 3, 1998.

MONTHLY REPORTS

Tom Hoxter reviewed the training objectives.

· He will be checking with other departments on what forms they use for training records.

· He will be changing a total of nine forms to the new format.

Ron Lemm reviewed training classes.

Chief Kapler commented that March was the best training month in quite awhile.

Map reading training should be done every year.

Last night's drill went well (Ladders & Ropes).

Need additional instruction on cribbing, power lines, (underground and above) and
extrication. There is an in-depth class by Lenny Crandall, that is a two-day rescue school on
auto extrication. It shows other tools to use when what you have is not working, such as
screw drivers.

Thc live bum on Sunday went well. Discussion ensued relating to whether or not the
department needed the Tech at the training. Liability was a concern. Another training
method would be to give someone a job and let them figure out how to accomplish it. One
concern was that the pump wasn't put in volume.

ChiefKapler reviewed the maintenance.

~ New pump cans will be in service by this week end.

~ The wheels on the trucks are not being cleaned.

Jim Sharp reviewed equipment report.

· Equipment is ready for all four new fire fighters.
