FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Department conducted a regular meeting on Wednesday, September 8, 1999, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chief Kapler called the regular meeting of the Ramsey Fire Department to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />There were eighteen fire fighters in attendance. There were no additions to the agenda. <br /> <br />Assistant Chief Hoxter introduced new Fire Fighter Mike Shevfeland. <br /> <br />At the October Business Meeting the Department will vote on Fire Fighter of the Year. The <br />Officers group will vote on Fundraiser of the Year and Chief Kapler and Assistant Chief Hoxter <br />will vote on the Chief's Award. <br /> <br />MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> <br />TRAINING <br /> <br />Officer Lemm reviewed the Training report. <br /> <br />August training included Hose Testing, Trauma and Blood Borne Pathogens. For the Hose <br />Testing the morning class tested the hose tower and the evening class tested the trucks. At <br />the Blood Borne Pathogens class the instructor mentioned there is drug available for <br />treatment of HIV, Officer Lemm will ask for an update on this information at the next <br />Medics Training. <br /> <br />September training included the Pump operator class, which was held September 1st. The <br />class went well and it is amazing how much you have to think to operate it. Other training <br />will be Death and Dying (it will be held at a mortuary in Anoka), and Pump Testing. For the <br />Pump Testing class there will be practice sessions, 7:30 a.m. for the morning class and 5:00- <br />7:00 p.m. for the evening class. <br /> <br />Fire Fighters Smith and Groezinger are in First Responder and Fire Fighter One training. <br /> <br />The Department will do a live burn using a house on Highway #47. A weekend morning is a <br />time that will be looked into. It is possible to get an Engine from Andover Fire Department <br />for backup. <br /> <br /> <br />
