In addition, the Police
Department is requesting the purchase of two CDDP (cell phone) vehicle modems to allow in-
squad lap-top access to the Anoka County Records System. This is phase III of the Central
Records System process. Earlier this year, the City of Ramsey sought bids from various vendors
for computer work stations and Netmark, Inc. came in with the lowest bid. On November 1,
2000, the Police Department sought an updated quote from Netmark. The Pentium III 733 NT
work station with a 15" monitor came in at $1,514.00 less tax. The Coon Rapids Police
Department, the Administrators of the Anoka County Joint Records System, have completed
research and bids on various CDDP modems. They strongly recommend that all County
agencies seeking in-squad CDDP access, purchase the Nextcell Spider II PCMCI Card Modem

Finance Committee/November 14, 2000
