PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 21, 2000, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Gerald Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly (alternate) <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James Norman <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Public Works Supervisor Grant Reimer <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at <br />5:35 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Consider the Installation of Street Light at the Intersection of 166t~ Avenue <br />and Jasper Street <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that Carol Ellis of 7001 - 166t~ Avenue NW, Ramsey, contacted <br />him recently to inquire about the possibility of having a priority streetlight installed at the <br />intersection of 166t~' Avenue and Jasper Street, The Ellis's have been experiencing vandalism <br />problems and are concerned about traffic safety at the intersection. They feel that a street light <br />may help the situation, as the area is quite dark after sunset. Director of Public Works Kapler <br />visited the site and made the following observations: <br /> <br />· The site is considered a primary plow route; it eventually joins up with 167th, which is an <br /> MSA street. <br />· While going north on Jasper Street, the end of the road changing into 166~ Lane is not very <br /> visible after dark. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee/March 21, 2000 <br /> Page 1 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
