PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Gerald Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly (alternate) <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />City Engineer Brian Olson <br />Street Supervisor Grant Reimer <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman called the meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at 5:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was nolle. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman explained that there was some discussion several years ago about <br />naming the east-west route for 153rd Avenue with a unique name, such as Sunwood Drive, once <br />it was completed. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski advised that in the early 1990s there was a lot of public opposition to <br />Sunwood Drive and it was indicated at that time the City would consider a unique name when <br />the final "leg" was completed. <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman added Case #5, Consider Renaming East/West (153rd Avenue) <br />Collector. <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman noted that A1 Kempf had appeared before the Council and indicated <br />that there was not a good dialogue between himself and representatives of the City regarding <br />purchasing an easement.
