Norman <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 7:25 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />#1: Ace Solid Waste Proposed Development <br /> <br />Andy Schwietzer, Owner of Ace Solid Waste, gave a brief history of the company. <br /> <br />Denny Fredrickson reviewed the growth the business has accomplished over the last seven years <br />and stated that they hope to continue that growth and contribute to the community. <br /> <br />Mike Berkopec, Ace Business Manager, reviewed the project, which would include an office and <br />shop facility. He explained that the truck maintenance facility directly attached to the office <br />space would be used to maintain only their vehicles. The site would include a 75 truck parking <br />area and an area for storing containers. The second phase of the project would be to construct a <br />recycling and transfer facility approximately 17,000 square feet in size. Mr. Berkopec explained <br />that the reason the recycling and transfer station is needed is because the company has two basic <br />costs, labor and disposal of garbage and recycling.
