ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY TASK FORCE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY, <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />On Thursday, April 17, 2003, the Environmental Policy Task Force met in the Conference Room <br />at lhe Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Vice-Chairperson Michael Max <br />Committee Member Erika Sitz <br />Committee Member Margaret Co,molly <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Chairperson Joe McDilda <br />Committee Member Michael Reeve <br />Committee Member Sue Dvorak <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Councilmelnber Sarah Strommen <br />Park and Recreation Commission Liaison Michael Rolfe <br />Park and Recreation Commissioner Melody Shryock <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Vice Chairperson Max called the meeting to order at 6:44 p.m. <br /> <br />API~ROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Sitz and seconded by Committee Member Connolly to approve <br />the April 7, 2003 meeting minutes. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chairperson Max, Committee Menibers Sitz and Connolly. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Members McDilda, Dvorak and Reeve. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Max showed the award that Ramsey received from the Mi~mesota Shade Tree Advisory <br />Committee ?or the annual environmental expos. The award contains a picture of the State <br />Capitol building with a significant Eln't tree in the forefront. Mr. Max stated that the particular <br />Elm is one of thc last healthy ones left on the Capitol property. <br /> <br />Mt'. Max noted that the City of Hutchinson recycling program includes collecting compost and <br />after a couple of years it is sold as a wonderful soil; they are turning garbage into money. <br /> <br />Mr. Max noted that lie and Mr. McDilda will be interviewed sometime next week for a QCTV <br />story on the Tree Preservation Ordinance. <br /> <br />API~ROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br /> <br />
