ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY TASK FORCE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />On Monday, May 5, 2003, the Environmental Policy Task Force met in the Conference Room at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Joe McDilda <br />Committee Member Erika Sitz <br />Committee Member Michael Max <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Committee Member Margaret Connolly <br />Committee Member Michael Reeve <br />Committee Member Sue Dvorak <br />Park Commission Liaison Michael Rolfe <br />City Council Liaison Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Also Ih'esent: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OFAGENDA <br /> <br />There was no formal agenda prepared for the meeting. <br /> <br />TASK FORCE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1 <br /> <br />The Ramsey Tree Book <br /> <br />It was noted that 500 copies of The Ramsey Tree Book have been published. Ms. Frolik was <br />directed to send copies of the book to all members of the Planning Commission and Parks and <br />Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />Ms. Sitz volunteered to investigate whether a copy of The Ramsey Tree Book can be placed in <br />the reference section at the Anoka County Library and the Anoka County Extension Service. <br /> <br />Case #2 <br /> <br />l)rafl Tree Preservation Ordinance <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated that City Staff will complete reformatting the draft ordinance prior to May 12 <br />and it will be scheduled for a public hearing at the Planning Commission meeting on June 5. Ms. <br />I-:rolil( was instructed to notify and provide copies of the draft ordinance to developers that work <br />in Ramscy. Ms. Frolik stated that if possible, she would also have an ordinance amendment for <br />public hearing on June 5 that would replace the current stem count for with the canopy cover <br />['ormula /'or determining required plantings in residential developments. If that particular <br />ordinance cannot be drafted in time for the June 5 public hearing, there should be discussion of <br />the intent to replace the stem count formula with the canopy cover fornmla in a future <br /> <br /> <br />
