ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY TASK FORCE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA On Monday, May 5, 2003, the Environmental Policy Task Force met in the Conference Room at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Chairperson Joe McDilda Committee Member Erika Sitz Committee Member Michael Max Members Absent: Committee Member Margaret Connolly Committee Member Michael Reeve Committee Member Sue Dvorak Park Commission Liaison Michael Rolfe City Council Liaison Sarah Strommen Also Ih'esent: Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik CALL TO ORDER Chairperson McDilda called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. APPROVAL OFAGENDA There was no formal agenda prepared for the meeting. TASK FORCE BUSINESS Case #1 The Ramsey Tree Book It was noted that 500 copies of The Ramsey Tree Book have been published. Ms. Frolik was directed to send copies of the book to all members of the Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission. Ms. Sitz volunteered to investigate whether a copy of The Ramsey Tree Book can be placed in the reference section at the Anoka County Library and the Anoka County Extension Service. Case #2 l)rafl Tree Preservation Ordinance Ms. Frolik stated that City Staff will complete reformatting the draft ordinance prior to May 12 and it will be scheduled for a public hearing at the Planning Commission meeting on June 5. Ms. I-:rolil( was instructed to notify and provide copies of the draft ordinance to developers that work in Ramscy. Ms. Frolik stated that if possible, she would also have an ordinance amendment for public hearing on June 5 that would replace the current stem count for with the canopy cover ['ormula /'or determining required plantings in residential developments. If that particular ordinance cannot be drafted in time for the June 5 public hearing, there should be discussion of the intent to replace the stem count formula with the canopy cover fornmla in a future
