PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Vice -Chair Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember John Dehen (arrived at 5:09 p.m.) <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Member Absent: Chairperson David Jeffrey <br />Also Present: Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone' <br />City Administrator Kurtis G. Ulrich <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Vice -Chair Olson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:03 p.m. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Vice -Chair Olson noted that Cases #3 and #5 would be postponed to a future meeting date. The <br />agenda was approved, as revised. <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Consider Approving the 2009 City Health Insurance Contribution for Non - <br />Union Employees <br />Human Resources Manager Kone' handed out revised information regarding health insurance <br />contributions. She stated that the City reached tentative agreements with sergeants and patrol <br />officers earlier today. She stated that in January, the City entered a 2-year agreement with <br />Health Partners and our premium increases were capped at 16%. She stated that in an effort to <br />further lower our premiums, the City also asked for ways to lower premiums such as with co -pay <br />amounts and drug benefit to get the premiums reduced to a 13.8% increase. She stated that staff <br />is recommending that the City stay at the same contribution level as they did in 2008. She <br />reviewed the City contribution for the different plans. She stated that they are recommending <br />the same for non -union employees and, if approved, they will be effective January 1, 2009. <br />Personnel Committee / November 25, 2008 <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
