The Personnel Committee <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at the <br />7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Chairperson David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Jeffrey called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:35 p.m. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Chair Jeffrey suggested that a Case #3 be added to the agenda to elect a new Chair. <br />City Administrator Ulrich suggested that this wait until the appointments are officially made at <br />tonight's Council meeting. He noted that since Councilmember McGlone has not been officially <br />appointed to this position, he cannot vote at tonight's meeting. <br />Motion by Chair Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Dehen, to approve the agenda, as <br />submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Jeffrey and Councilmember Dehen. Voting No: <br />None. <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Paid On -Call Fire Officer Selections for Year 2009 <br />Fire Chief Kapler stated that selection of Fire Officers is an annual event. He reviewed the paid <br />on call officers and noted that these are split into two-year terms and half of the terms are up for <br />renewal now. He stated that per the Joint Powers Agreement with Nowthen, they agreed to pay <br />for an Assistant Fire Chief position, however, rather than this, he is proposing to bring one of the <br />officers up to Captain status. He noted that Matt Kohner would be Captain #13 for the Nowthen <br />Personnel Committee / January 13, 2009 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
