PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />Chairperson John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone <br />Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Dehen called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:02 p.m. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey and seconded by Councilmember McGlone to approve the <br />agenda as submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Dehen, Councilmembers Jeffrey and McGlone. <br />Voting No: None. <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Approve a Reorganization of the Engineering Division <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone reviewed the positions in the Engineering Division and <br />stated that staff is proposing a reorganization of that department. Staff is proposing that the <br />current Assistant City Engineer be promoted to City Engineer and that the current City Engineer, <br />Mr. Jankowski, be reclassified to Assistant. This allows more of a proper alignment with the <br />City's needs. Ms. Reed Kone talked about reducing consultant costs and stated that this <br />reorganization would create a shift in overseeing the department and would allow for the <br />Director of Public Works to work on goals. <br />Director of Public Works Olson stated that Mr. Jankowski has been here a very long time and is <br />very detail oriented. Mr. Himmer has a different skill set and he has actually supervised the <br />Personnel Committee /April 14, 2009 <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
