PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, December 08, 2009, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Chairperson John Dehen <br />Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Also Present: Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed Kone <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Dehen called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:05 p.m. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Motion by Mayor Ramsey, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to approve the agenda as <br />submitted. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Dehen, Mayor Ramsey and Councilmember <br />McGlone. Voting No: None. <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Consider a Resolution Eliminating a Building Inspections Position and <br />Authorizing a Contract with Inspectron for Inspections Services <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone reviewed the staff report. Councilmember McGlone <br />asked whether the city should self -insure for unemployment so that the costs would be not be so <br />high. Human Resources Manager Reed Kone responded that she was not sure what the city's <br />options were but she knew that most cities paid into unemployment as claims were made. <br />Human Resources Manager Reed Kone indicated that she would look into this. <br />Councilmember Dehen asked what the rationale was for selecting Inspectron and whether they <br />came down on their price. Human Resources Manager Reed Kone indicated that Inspectron was <br />selected from a group of three firms that had been interviewed.
