CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, February 21, <br />2006, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember David Elvig <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Civil Engineer II Linton <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:55 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVEAGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Ramsey Lions Park Building Project <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson reviewed that the Lions Park Building project was bid in <br />August 2005. Due to the wide ranges in the bids received, all of the bids were rejected. Since <br />that time, staff has been working with the architects and the Ramsey Lions to identify options to <br />reduce the cost of the project by simplifying the structure. Based upon discussions with the <br />architects, staff is recommending that the project be re-bid with the following changes: remove <br />the bathroom rough-in altemate and add an alternate that would reduce the size of the structure. <br />The building would still accommodate the construction of future restrooms when sewer and <br />water become available.
