BOARD OF REVIM4 CITY OF RAMSEY ANCKA COUN~f STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Board of Review was conducted on Tuesday, April 26, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Gary Reimann Councilmember A1 Pearson Councilmember Steve DeLuca Councilmember Al Sorteberg Councilmember Arnie Cox Also Present: City Assessor Lester Wirz Anoka County Deputy Assessor Gordy Starky Mayor Reimann celled the Board of Review %o order at 7:00 p.m. and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Lisa Houde - PIN #22-32-25-13-0027 - 6720 %54~b Lane N.W. - Ms. Houde stated that she paid $61,500 for her home in August, 1987; now the property valuation is $71,100 and the lower level is unfinished and the driveway is not paved. Mr. Wirz explained the formula for computing property valuation as it relates to the Houde property and that there has been a County-wide increase in the replacement cost per square foot. Ms. Houde stated that a neighboring 4 bedroom home just sold for $71,500 and it has a finished lower level, blacktop driveway and landscaped yard. Comparing the two homes, she knows she cennot sell hers for $71,100. Mr. Wirz stated that because of the imposed increase in replacement cost, it was not uncommon for property values to increase by $10,000. Ms. Houde stated that her property value should be lower considering her proximity to the landfill. Mr. Wirz replied that no property values were reduced because of proximity to the landfill because records indicate that the landfill has not discouraged people from continuing to build in that area. Councilmsmber Sorteberg stated that he felt $71,100 is a fair valUation for the Houde property. Councilmember Cox stated that people should not continue to vote for State legislators that impose tax formulas that increase property values and taxes.
