BOARD OF REVIM4 <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANCKA COUN~f <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Board of Review was conducted on Tuesday, April 26, 1988 at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Steve DeLuca <br />Councilmember Al Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Assessor Lester Wirz <br />Anoka County Deputy Assessor Gordy Starky <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann celled the Board of Review %o order at 7:00 p.m. and led in <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Lisa Houde - PIN #22-32-25-13-0027 - 6720 %54~b Lane N.W. - <br />Ms. Houde stated that she paid $61,500 for her home in August, 1987; now <br />the property valuation is $71,100 and the lower level is unfinished and <br />the driveway is not paved. <br />Mr. Wirz explained the formula for computing property valuation as it <br />relates to the Houde property and that there has been a County-wide <br />increase in the replacement cost per square foot. <br />Ms. Houde stated that a neighboring 4 bedroom home just sold for $71,500 <br />and it has a finished lower level, blacktop driveway and landscaped yard. <br />Comparing the two homes, she knows she cennot sell hers for $71,100. <br />Mr. Wirz stated that because of the imposed increase in replacement cost, <br />it was not uncommon for property values to increase by $10,000. <br />Ms. Houde stated that her property value should be lower considering her <br />proximity to the landfill. <br /> Mr. Wirz replied that no property values were reduced because of proximity <br /> to the landfill because records indicate that the landfill has not <br /> discouraged people from continuing to build in that area. <br /> Councilmsmber Sorteberg stated that he felt $71,100 is a fair valUation for <br /> the Houde property. <br /> Councilmember Cox stated that people should not continue to vote for State <br /> legislators that impose tax formulas that increase property values and <br /> taxes. <br /> <br /> <br />
