ORDINANCE #89-22 CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AMENDMENT TO THE RAMSEY CITY CODE TO ADD CHAPTER 10.8 WHICH IS KNOWN AS "BUILDING CODE BOARD OF APPEALS". AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A BOARD OF APPEALS The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 10.81 THE BOARD OF APPEALS Section 10.81.1. Creation, The Ramsey Building Code Board of Appeals is created pursuant to Section 204 of the Building Code of the City of Ramsey adopted by Ramsey Code of Ordinances, Section 150, and is hereinafter referred to as the "Board". Section 10.81.2. Membership. The Board is composed of five (5) members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The Community Development Director and the Building Official serve as ex-officio members. Section 10.81.3. Office of the Board and Place of Meeting. The office of the Board shall be at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota, or at such other place as the Board may designate. All meetings of the Board shall be held at such office except that on three (3) days written notice to all Board members and to any person or persons whose appeal is to be heard at that time. Any regular or special meeting of the Board may be held at such other place within Ramsey as the notice may designate. Section 10.81.4. Rules of Procedure. All proceedings of the Board shall be governed by the Rules of Procedure hereinafter set forth and by the provisions of the Ramsey Building Code. Any conflict between these Rules of Procedure and the Ramsey Building Code shall be resolved by the provisions of the Ramsey Building Code. Section 10.81.5. Compensation. Members of the Board shall be compensated $20.00 per meeting for expenses incurred. SECTION 10.82 OFFICERS OF THE BOARD Section vice-chairperson. of the Board. 10.82.1. Officers. The officers of the Board shall consist of a chairperson and The Building Official, an ex-officio member of the Board, shall act as secretary Section 10.82.2. Election of Officers. At the Annual Meeting, the Board shall elect a chairperson and vice-chairperson from among its members who shall hold their respective offices until the next Annual Meeting and until their successors are elected. Section 10.82.3. Chairperson, The chairperson shall preside at all meetings of the Board.
