RAMSEY TOWNSHIP <br />ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 74-]+ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY FOR ANY NEWLY <br />CONSTRUCTED STRUCTURE OR STRUCTURES USED IN A NON-CONFORMING <br />MANNER AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR FAILURE TO OBTAIN SUCH CERTIFI- <br />CATE. <br /> <br />The Town Board of Supervisors of the Township of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. PURPOSE <br /> <br /> The purpose of this ordinance is to require a certificate of occupancy <br />for all new structures and for all structures used in a non-conforming manner <br />within Ramsey Township in order to assure that all Ramsey Township ordinances <br />are complied with prior to such occupancy. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY. <br /> <br /> No building or structure hereafter erected, structurally altered or moved, <br />or that portion of an existing structure or building erected or moved, shall be <br />occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose whatsoever until a certifi- <br />cate of occupancy shall have been issued by the zoning officer stating that <br />the building or structure complies with all the Building and Zoning Ordinances <br />of the Township, as well as the following requirements: <br /> <br /> a) Culvert where necessary: If in the discretion of the zoning officer <br />and/or the township engineer, proper drainage requires the use of a culvert, <br />such culvert shall.be installed in accordance with the standards and specifica- <br />tions which have been adopted by resolution of the Town Board. <br /> b) Shade Trees Required. Decidious shade trees such as ash, hard <br />maple, Norway and/or native evergreen trees with a minimum 2-inch diameter <br />shall be required at the rate of one per hundred feet of each lot's street frontage. <br />Said trees shall be located no less than two(2) feet nor more than thirty (30) <br />feet [rom the right-of-way, and no less than five (5) feet from each side yard <br />lot line. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. REQUIRED FOR NON-CONFORMING USE. <br /> <br /> No non-conforming use shall be maintained, renewed, changed or extended <br />without a certificate of occupancy having first been issued by the zoning officer <br />therefor. <br /> <br /> <br />
